If you would have told me ten years ago that I would own a tea room, I would have  probably believed you. However, this is not the plan that I had for myself, nor the plans my mom had for me. After high school, I attended Texas A&M University and graduated in August 2018. I wanted to go into the workforce where I could utilize the skills and leadership I learned, but God has a unique plan and purpose for us all.

From my beginning, I have always been led to the place I

am today, writing my story and being one of God’s servants.

When I was just seven, my father was killed in an accident.

His death rocked my family and our community. It was

during this time that I began to learn the true importance

of family, faith, and God’s plan for us all.  My mother, brother

Brok, and I grew closer together and learned to rely on God

and each other.  Since I was a young child, I have watched

my mother grow into the “wonder woman” she is today,

blessed by strength and her faith in God.  At every hurdle and

blessing in our lives, I have seen her give thanks and glory to

God for everything that He has given us.  She taught me to believe

in myself and most importantly, in God’s plans for me.  As my brother Brok and I have matured, we have learned from and supported each other through all our adventures.  Growing up with such a loving and caring role model has taught me so much about compassion and empathy for others.

Since then, God has strategically placed many people in my life who have guided me and helped shape me into the person I am today.  In 2008, God gifted us with my stepdad Geoff. He has been a constant support to my family and I am so blessed to call him my dad. Next was my brother's perfect match Tori. She then gave birth to my darling niece Harper and sweet baby Beau.  I never knew how much I could love until those sweet boogers were born.  We are so thankful that God blessed us with two beautiful creations.

My husband, Chris, deserves his own paragraph because what a rock I have in my partner. We started dating in July 2018 in College Station before I graduated. We dated long distance before we took our own leap of faith in 2020 when he quit his job and moved to Mont Belvieu to live and work with me at The Little Mustard Seed. Having a partner that has stood literally by my side while we have grown this place has been such a blessing.

Through reflection, I realized that all of these milestones and people God placed in my life were part of His plan.  When I graduated I was lost and didn’t know what to do.  However, with God’s help, the opportunity, and a strong support system, I have been allowed to take this leap of faith as my mother did, and open my own Little Mustard Seed. It is now my role as one of God’s Servants, to share my story with you in hopes that you will realize the plan that God has for you. I hope that you will take that little seed of faith which God has placed in all of us and allow it to grow into a strong tree for the people of your life to take refuge under its beautiful branches.

Your Friend & Servant,
Stormy
